CSA Shares for the 2019 Season are now sold out.
You can still purchase fresh produce from Willow Way Farms at our Market Locations.
What is a CSA?
Community supported agriculture is a way in which you can invest in your local community. By purchasing a share, you provide critical capital for small farms, like ours, to maintain our day to day operations so that we can focus on growing delicious produce for you to put on your family’s table. Our CSA will start in mid to late May and last for 20 weeks. Currently, we offer two sizes of shares. Our individual share will provide you with vegetables for one or two people each week. Our Family share will provide all the veggies you will need to keep a family of 3-4 happy and healthy each week. By purchasing a share, you save at least 15% each week compared to if you were to purchase your produce from our stand. Plus, by purchasing a share, you receive 10% off any additional produce you purchase from us.
Most small scale farmers don’t have income in late winter and early spring but it is the time when we have the most expenses, the idea behind a CSA is to help provide capital to the farmer when it’s needed most and in return you get an overall discount on the produce you purchase from our farm. If you can purchase the share all at once it is greatly appreciated. If that is not possible, it is very important to us to make the shares accessible to as many people as possible. Please see below for details on our payment plan.
What’s in my share?
Your share will contain 8-10 different vegetables and herbs each week from the following list:
Head lettuce, Spinach, Kale, Swish Chard, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Snap Peas, Turnips, Radishes, Bush Beans, Mini Celery, Arugula, Beets, Carrots, Tomatoes, Bell peppers, Onions, Cucumbers, summer Squash, Butternut Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Potatoes, Fennel, Oregano, Basil, Chives, and Rosemary.
You will be able to exchange vegetables that you don’t care for each week at the CSA drop point for vegetables of a similar value.
The individual share provides enough fresh vegetables and herbs each week for one or two people. If you mainly eat at home this share is designed to provide for one person or a couple who eats out a few times per week. The individual and family boxes will contain the same produce but the family box will contain a larger quantity. The share will become available in mid to late May and run for 20 weeks. Shares will be available to pick up at White Elm Brewing Company: 2717 S 8th St, Lincoln, NE. You will receive one box of produce with an average of 8-10 different kinds of vegetables and herbs each week for the 20 week period. You also receive 10% off all purchases made at any of our market locations or custom on farm orders.
The family share provides enough fresh vegetables and herbs each week for two adults and one or two children.
Due to the nature of farming there may be weather related interruptions in CSA box availability throughout the season. By purchasing, you understand that your box may be delayed, but additional week(s) at the end of the season may be used to compensate for delayed boxes.
What happens if I can’t pick up my box one week?
If you miss a weekly pickup your box will be stored at the farm for one week in cold storage. You can arrange to pick up your box within one week of the original date the box was available. After that week your box will be donated to a local food pantry or Matt Talbot community kitchen depending on their needs. Please contact me by text or email, if you would like to arrange a time to pick up your box at the farm.

I know that purchasing a share all at once may not be possible for everyone interested in investing in our CSA. To help make things easier we have a payment plan that spreads the cost out over many months. The payment plan is broken down into 4 equal parts.
Individual Share--If your first payment for an individual share is made before March 1st, 2019 the cost is $75 for the initial purchase, and $75 for the three remaining payments. If purchased after March 1st, 2019 the cost is $80 for each of the four payments.
Family Share-- If your first payment for an Family share is made before March 1st, 2019 the cost is $125 for the initial purchase, and $125 for the three remaining payments. If purchased after March 1st, 2019 the cost is $133.75 for each of the four payments.
An initial payment is needed to secure your spot in our CSA, shares are limited. Subsequent payments due by May 6th, June 15th and July 5th 2019.
Payments can be made on the site by following this link. Or you can pay by check. See below on how to save $10 by paying with a check for CSA Shares.
Paying By Check
Paying by check helps to lower my credit card processing fees and I’m happy to pass the savings on to you. If you choose to pay by check for your share and you purchase it all at once or if you purchase the payment plan but pay ALL of your payments by check, then your cost for the share will be reduced by $10. On payment plans, the $10 discount will be applied to the final payment.
